Hey guys! I went to Colorado the second week of August and let me just say I. AM. IN. LOVE.!!! Colorado is gorgeous and there’s so much to do! I took the trip with my family and we stayed in a different place every night so we could explore as much as possible! My favorite place we stayed was by far Breckenridge. That place is straight out of a Hallmark movie! We also visited Boulder, Denver, and Colorado Springs.
The first day we got off the plane and headed to our hotel in Boulder. It was late so we went straight to bed so we could get up early to explore! We woke up, got ready, and headed to go hike. We planned out a moderate hike but when we got there my sister and I decided to take the difficult trail. The hike we took was the Royal Arch, the views were SO WORTH the long and hard hike. Honestly, it was a bit scary in some places during the hike, my sister and I had to get on our hands and knees to get through some of the places. The hike ended up being around two hours and thirty minutes long. We were both dying but nothing compares to getting to the top and seeing those views! Royal Arch is a level: difficult and should average around two hours to hike. The elevation goes up to 6,915ft! After we got done hiking we headed back to the hotel, showered, and got ready. We got back in the car and drove to Breckenridge.
Breckenridge was about a two-hour drive from Boulder. It was pretty much a straight stretch and an easy drive. When we got to Boulder we decided to explore the town. The town was adorable and there was so much to do! Like I said above, it legit looked like a Hallmark movie! We then got dinner in town and headed back to the hotel to rest for the next day. We woke up early the next day because we had reservations to go horseback riding in the mountains. It was so much fun, the ride was about an hour and a half long. We were in a group of people and had two handlers to help with the horses. The horses were amazing and knew exactly where to go on the trial. This was one of the highlights of my trip. I had a blast enjoying and seeing nature and all of the wild animals!
We then explored the town some more and packed up our stuff to head to Colorado Springs. We got to the hotel, ordered in food and headed to bed. The next day we went to Red Rock Amphitheater and Garden of Gods. Both were places you can’t pass up seeing, they are breathtaking! After a full day of exploring both of those places we once again packed up. We headed to Denver to stay in a hotel near the airport. The whole trip was so much fun and I can’t wait to go again! Next time I would love to go during the winter so I could ski! If you have any questions or want more recommendations just comment below!
