Happy New Years Eve everybody! Wow where did the time go, is 2019 already over? As I get older, times seem to go faster and faster, I remember being in grade school thinking how it will be forever until I get into high school and a century until I graduate. Well look where I am now, its almost been 5 years since I graduated high school, I’m married, and doing what I love. You only have one life, why are we not living like that? Well lets start!
Lets Reflect on 2019, It could have been the best year yet. It could have been the worst or like mine, your 2019 could have been mixed with both. I had a lot of amazing things happen to me this year, I got married to the man of my dreams, was on TLC’s Say Yes to The Dress, and traveled Europe this summer. I also started a dream of mine which was to start this journey of blogging with you guys. All of those things stand out to me when I think about this past year and how blessed I was to experience those amazing memories. But I also have had bad moments this year, just like most of us. My Nana passed away not even a month before my wedding. My anxiety went into a all time high. I had to let go of toxic friendships. I failed multiple times during the year. Did that stop me? No! This year has taught me a lot that I should’ve learned earlier in life but I guess better late than never.
I learned.. that life isn’t easy, God has his plans for you and they might not be the plans you expected them to be. I also learned that you have to learn to stand up for yourself, people will continuously walk over you. I had to learn to finally stand up for myself and that it’s okay to say no. Something else, I had to do is start cutting negativity out of my life. Surrounding yourself with negativity will only bring you down. If you surround yourself with positivity and positive people your life will be positive as well. Finally, I learned that I needed to love myself for who I am. God loves me exactly the way I am, he created me. If he loves me unconditionally, why didn’t I love myself back? I started to realize these things at the end of 2019, so I’m still working on all of them. These are all on my 2020 resolution list so I can continue to better myself. It’s okay to be a work in progress, It’s okay to have highs and lows. Life is crazy but we just have to learn to keep moving and make situations into the best we can.
Now that we reflected, and learned, let’s move on to 2020. What can we do better in 2020 to make this year count? Grab a pencil and paper and lets do this thaaang!!
Start by writing down all things you would like to achieve in the year 2020. Make them in different categories. Start with the big picture goals, like live a healthier lifestyle or buy a home, get 10k Followers on Instagram, etc. Then when you have those written down, start writing under all your big goals, little goals that you can achieve to make your big goal come true! An example would be if my big goal was to live a healthier lifestyle, my little goal would be, work myself up to exercising four days a week or start cooking healthier meals at least five nights a week.
Once you have all your goals written down, hang up that sheet of paper somewhere you will see it everyday. It can be on your fridge or inside your closet door or by your coffee machine. Just anywhere it will remind you of your goals every time you see it. Throughout the year, you can highlight each little goal you achieve. Then once you achieve one of your big goals you can cross it out with a sharpie. Now, go out and treat yourself because that’s a huge deal!! I can’t explain how good you will feel once you cross off one of your goals. This method will keep you on track of your goals all year long. Then when 2021 comes around do it all over again!
Thank you all for being so supportive on this blogging journey of mine this year! I can’t wait to see what 2020 will bring to the table for myself and for all of you.
Much love, Juju
