While in Europe I discovered a makeup store that I fell in love with. Will I ditch Sephora? Haha, probably not completely but I definitely will be shopping at Sephora much less after discovering something so much better.. and CHEAPER!
Being a crazy makeup addict I’m the girl that drags whoever with me to any makeup store I see and always ends up leaving with at least one item, usually more! During my European cruise, I just returned from I noticed a makeup store “Kiko” popping up at almost everywhere we traveled to. I was very curious but I never had a chance to stop in. Halfway through my trip I lost my eyeliner and was almost out of mascara. I decided to walk in and see what they had to offer. I was stunned!! I mean really stunned guys, their prices were so cheap compared to the US. At first, I was a bit hesitant about it so I tested some of their products and talked to an employee, I was pretty impressed. I ended up leaving the store with 144.00 Euros worth of makeup which would be around 160.00 US dollars. This bought me 23 items in the store. Can you tell me the last time you walked out of Sephora with more than 4 or 5 items equaling less than 150.00 dollars? I can’t! I always spend a fortune at Sephora, Mac, and Ulta and only leave with a couple of items in my bag.
The 23 items bought me a whole new makeup routine. The first time I tried the foundation, was for dinner on the ship and as soon as I applied it, I thought winner, winner, chicken dinner!! The foundation was so full coverage and a little went a long way. Their mascara was also very impressive it gave me the longest lashes ever. The lipsticks, lip glosses, lip liners, and eyeliner all applied beautifully and stayed on so well. Everything was very impressive! I still wasn’t on board just yet though, I had to see how it held up outside in the heat.
My crazy self did full glam to test it to the max while traveling Rome which was one of our hottest and longest touring days. I knew this would tell me if this was a keeper or not. I did my makeup at 6:30 am and was done touring around 4:30 pm. During those 10 hours, I didn’t touch my makeup at all. I looked at my face when I returned to the ship and it was still looking SO good. I gave this makeup a big 8 out of 10, it stayed fantastically and looked so good on. The one thing I didn’t care about would have to be the strong scent of some products when first applied but after a few seconds, I didn’t smell it at all. Next time you’re traveling abroad and need makeup, walk into different stores and buy a couple of items. See what you think, you never know, it could become your favorite.
